This is the livewatch thread for S8E11!
We're down to six pairs! We know all of them will perform, and two individual singers will go (instead of a pair) but not much else—I'll update when the format gets explained.
ETA: Looks like tonight all six will perform, then the top two will be declared safe. The other four will perform again, the audience vote won't actually do much, but then the audience will each vote for two juniors and two seniors to save, and the bottom individual junior and senior vote-getters will be out (and if they aren't already a pair, their partners will team up for the finale).

I've heard of the band. I think their biggest hit was One Week? It's insanely hard to understand unless you're like totally fluent in English, though.

Whatever else they may or may not be doing, they know how to play off each other onstage better than 90% of pairs on this show. I like that we get to see that go in a new direction.

I feel like a lot of his performances have been more... idk. Emotionally expressive but in a sort of subtle way? Than we usually see from him? Like during this song I feel like he's gone through the whole range, but none of it seemed overdone. Are we seeing the start of Wei Wuxian's actor era?

CP stuff aside, I honestly think LWJ brings it out of him somehow. Like the person above said, they know how to play off each other and get really interesting reactions out of each other. For all that LWJ isn't as expressive, somehow he gives WWX whatever it is he needs to react to.

I KNOW that even if the CP were real, what they do onstage =/= real life. But. That doesn't stop me from worrying they've had a fight. Maybe even a non-CP fight, just a fight between people working together.

They're just not pretending at all anymore, huh? That last song didn't have to be shippy, they could've done it like they were both singing to their girlfriends or whatever. But no, we were totally watching two boyfriends maybe-maybe-not breaking up. And now 约定? Another breakup type song, though. Maybe that means they're breaking the CP after this.

I think you're right. From what we've seen of LWJ, he's improved a lot but he's not this good an actor. That boy is feeling things right now.

Look, I've gone back and rewatched their second performance ten times. And Wei Wuxian at the end is something else. Through most of the song, he looks happy, right, but it's mostly that performance smile singers put on for a song like this. But then, when he turns around, if you watch his face, it's like the moment his eyes land on Lan Wangji he's actually caught sight of the love of his life, coming back to him at the place they promised.
And then I don't think I've ever seen him so absolutely thrilled to deliver a lyric than on that final 一辈子幸福的约定(a promise of a lifetime of happiness)! Like he looks so genuinely in love and just... elated that he gets to say this to this man. I mean, Lan Wangji looks fully in love, too, and given that we've never seen him smile before I guess that counts as elated for him, but I can't take my eyes off of just how joyful Wei Wuxian is throughout that last chorus, right up to those two 我更爱你了(I love you even more)s sung right to each other. If he's acting, he should consider a career change.

YES!!! And!! He stayed like that the whole time they were up there! The way they kept looking at each other while talking to Lin Hai, and every time he looked at LWJ his smile got wider—I thought he was gonna break his damn face. Same for LWJ, except of course dialed down to like almost nothing (BUT NOT TOTALLY NOTHING!). And the fact that LWJ barely tried to look away from him at all.
