Group A teams will be ranked this episode, with the top two going up against the bottom two pairs from Group B in episode 9 and the bottom two going up against the top two pairs from Group B in episode 10.
All four pairs will perform two songs, with their final rankings based on the total votes they get between the two performances.

Probably, but still weird, I agree. I'm guessing it'll be something with a lot of techno-themed backup dancers to keep us distracted from them not doing anything interesting.

IDK, I could see LWJ coming up with the concept maybe. He seems like the type who'd see a song about technology and be like "no, actually, this is about being lost in a mirror maze." That makes it sound like I think it's stupid, and I don't! I love it. It just seems like he'd be the type into, like... symbolism and shit.

Oh my god how do you all not realize that OPERA SINGERS CAN DANCE. It's part of their training! Just because he probably can't do anything you'd see on SDC doesn't mean he can't dance AT ALL.

Yeah I think this one is mostly just going to be a pretty song to sit back and listen to, which is fine. Every song can't be THAT.

Are you even listening to the song? Can you not hear how Wei Wuxian's part, especially, changed there? Both of them, though. There's something very raw and real about that last chorus, go rewatch it and tell me there's not. Sure, it's just a performance, but they're going for something with that performance.

Anyone not following WWX's career closely might not realize it, but he's like 2-3 years tops from releasing a whole-ass concept album. Getting together with LWJ will probably accelerate that. His biggest fans are well aware of this descent into artsiness and are eagerly waiting for him to release a super fucked up sci fi short as a MV like Joker Xue did.
Music NOT in this chapter:
This didn't make it into the fic because I'm only including wangxian discussion, but a couple of the other performances:
Mianmian and Wen Ning did 意外 (Yìwài, Unexpected Journey) by Joker Xue ) - original MV (another warning for CDrama Bloody Disease, it infects all the tragic MVs too), Live performance with Da Zhangwei that has English translations)
Song Lan and Xue Yang did 幸福的旁边 (Xìngfú de pángbiān, The Other Side of Happiness) by The Flowers. (The Flowers were DZW's band, and he wrote the song, so I'll say that counts for the theme.) Here's the only translation I've seen, although I think it's a machine translation.

Nie Huaisang and Ouyang Zizhen did 世上最美的旋律 (Shìshàng zuìměi de xuánlǜ, The Most Beautiful Melody in the World) by Da Zhangwei - original video plus his performance of it in Our Song S5 with Ma Jiaqi. I cannot find an English translation for the life of me but here are the lyrics to pop into your favorite machine translator.
Bao Shan and Lan Jingyi did Bring Me To Life, yes the one by Evanescence, which was performed in S6 by Wang Hele and Shila Amzah.
